The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) technology team needed a faster, more efficient way to approve and deploy new digital services without compromising security. We partnered with VA’s technology leadership to integrate security and privacy into the continuous delivery process instead of treating them as a separate step. This approach reduced the authorization process from years to days, improved overall system security posture, and established VA as the first non-DoD agency to achieve continuous Authorization to Operate (cATO).

The U.S. Space Force (USSF) depends on responsive, secure software to track threats, manage space assets, and coordinate with allies worldwide. However, their legacy acquisition processes couldn’t keep pace with requirements. When outdated software development methods created dangerous gaps in joint space command and control capabilities, units within Space Systems Command (SSC) paired with Rise8 to scale and sustain its modern delivery model. Together, we introduced a new approach to building and deploying mission-critical software for faster decision-making and more secure operations.

A U.S. Space Force (USSF) unit supporting the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission faced challenges caused by manual, inefficient scheduling systems. These systems made it harder to coordinate resources, delayed data collection, and limited the ability to respond to mission needs. We worked side-by-side with Guardians to stand up an Integrated Software Squadron model and deliver a web-based scheduling application system, eliminating data aggregation challenges, maximizing telescope usage, and giving leadership a clear view of operational data and priorities. Our efforts improved daily operations and gave the team long-term control over its software development.
